James, our awesome associate Gerard (my friend who acted as our PR guy while we walked) sent me a link to that site just over one month ago. Here's what he wrote (I love Gerard's directness!)
Subject: Big ******* Deal!
I am so ******* mad I could SPIT. Gee I wonder where they got the idea....those big ******* ripp off masters. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
**** THEM AND THE HORSE THEY RODE IN ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I have the gall to admit that what we did was much more difficult, I also have to say that doing what they did would have been a damned fun time, too, and is a notable accomplishment regardless of the fact that ours was a much harder trek, if shorter. I haven't looked at their site extensively, but if those guys brought all that together on their own (I mean, did all the research, made the right contacts, etc.) then they deserve the attention they're given.
Besides, man, I'll bet they got free Segways! (o;
In response to a post by James:
I saw your recent post on the '10mph' site.
You guys jokingly say that what you did is stupid. Look at what the total idiots at www.10mph.com did!
It's too bad you took their domain name. They deserve it so much more. But, they could have used: we're_lying_thieves.com, we_beg_for_money_and_press_coverage.com, we_can't_spell.com, we_failed_to_plan.com, or many others.
